Residence Inn by Marriott Blacksburg-University

The location alone is a huge win — literally just a minute from campus, making it incredibly convenient whether you’re visiting for a game, a campus tour, or just passing through Blacksburg. There’s no shortage of dining options nearby, so you’ll never have to go far for a good meal. The rooms are clean, and well-kept — you can tell the property is fairly new and well maintained. The service is attentive and friendly, rounding out what is overall a really good hotel experience.

The staff at the residence inn was great! Kaleigh at the front desk was awesome, super helpful and friendly. Great place to stay in Blacksburg. We stayed there with our dog while he was getting treated at Virginia Tech. The staff at the hotel made our difficult trip much more bearable. The room was great, clean, comfortable and plenty of room for us and our pup while he was undergoing treatment. The breakfast was also great.

Booked a room for 3 ( king with sleeper sofa). The sofa looked odd as the zipper parts of cushion were facing out and had small tears and stains, went to put them correct and saw they both had big holes on the other side too and more stains. After retrieving what should have been sheets in closet realize the pillow is dirty and there aren't sheets just a blanket. Go down and get sheets from front desk, they mention they are short on sheets. Go back up, pull out sofa sleeper and realize the mattress is stained and there is no mattresses pad in sight. Toilet was wobbly like it needed a shim or 2. Hard to tell but the bed had weird lumps on both sides of the foot of bed in the sheets. At first I figured it was someone's clothes but appears to be just lumpy duvet. Pretty disappointed but luckily it was 1 night .
