We had a wonderful experience staying at this location, most notably because of the kind and thoughtful staff that we interacted with. The young man at the front desk (didn’t catch his name), with such a warm and welcoming attitude when we checked in late at night; the waitresses for breakfast who were energetic and attentive — everyone was fantastic. The rooms were also quite spacious. No sounds from hallways, outside or other rooms. And we were very close to campus. Very happy with our stay!

If you are coming to Blacksburg, you want to stay here. Let me share my experience. I’d first like to say this isn’t the cheapest place… there are places 30 bucks less… but I’d gladly pay more for what we saw. Swimming pool: Bring your bathing suit, this thing was immaculate. No heavy chlorine smell, fresh towels, IN STACKS, water was crystal clear. 5/5 Exercise room: I’m not here to work out… Ever. I walked through and instead of a deflated medicine ball, an ab wheel and bench with 20 pound weights…was an adequately stocked, variable option workout space. Free weights, cable machines, yoga mats, treadmill, elliptical, bike, foam rollers and enough room to actually become active if you need to work out. 5/5 Room: Freshly cleaned, well stocked and easy to get in and out. Beds were excellent, and the pillows and bedsheets were premier. Perfect for a person who’s been in a car, plane or train waiting to find a place to sleep. AC cranks in there too, so you can definitely get it down and jump in the warm bed. The bathroom had endless hot (and I do mean hot) water, excellent pressure, and again, well stocked with toiletries… I forgot my shampoo and conditioner… what was provided was more than good… and it’s not a small little bottle, it’s full sized attached to the wall. Very generous. 5/5 Grounds: I have a service animal and my dog typically goes with us everywhere… however, THIS HOTEL IS PET FRIENDLY! A FANTASTIC area for your pet to do their business is just outside the door, providing pet waste bags and disposal bin. But also, they have a well appointed snack bar, that offers products for children and adults alike. Select wines and beers, sodas and candy, chips and frozen dinners… sundry items and even some VT gear (Go Hokies). 5/5 Staff: this is a case where I really did save the best for last. If you haven’t already jumped off to book your room, let me share a personal story: We came to spend Easter with my daughter, and our son became sick. While check out was at 11, I walked down and explained what happened and IMMEDIATELY, without hesitation, they extended my check out time to 2pm, o extra charge, no questions. This allowed my Son time to get rest before we had to drive 4+ hours away. I can’t put a price on that type of hospitality. It’s rare to find and the staff of this hotel, particularly the crew working this Easter weekend, every last person, top tier in their business. If Hilton wanted to pick a location and say “let’s build our model and train our staff, worldwide, to a standard”… please look no further than this location. I can not say enough good things about this place, it will be the place we stay for the remaining time my daughter attends VT. And then after graduation, this will STILL be the place we go to when we visit our other friends and family attending!!! Also: and it may not be going on when you’re there, but, they have a 20% off coupon for the campus bookstore… so go buy you “Mama Bird” and “Papa Bird” gear!
