Courtyard by Marriott Fishkill

The Courtyard initially threw us off because of the construction out front, but we found our way. We arrived at 3:50 p.m. for the 4:00 p.m. check-in, and our room was still being finished, though it was ready shortly after. Overall, it was a solid stay and had everything I needed. The walls were a bit thin, but it wasn’t a major issue. The lobby and courtyard were both pleasant spaces, and the staff were friendly throughout our stay. The biggest surprise was the food - it was much better than I expected and noticeably better than the catering I’ve had at many other hotels.

I had a wonderful experience at the Courtyard Marriott in Newburgh. The hotel is consistently clean, comfortable, and welcoming, but what truly makes this location stand out is the exceptional service. Katie is one of the best team members I’ve encountered at any hotel. She is always professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful. Her positive attitude and willingness to assist with anything make every stay easier and more enjoyable. It’s clear she truly cares about guests and takes pride in her work. Because of people like Katie, I always look forward to returning to this Courtyard Marriott. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the Newburgh area!

The location is perfect, essentially on interstate 84. We were greeted warmly by Tyler who I am told is the manager. I’m not sure if this is standard practice or because of our Marriott status, but we are given two bottles of soda on arrival. He was friendly and informative. The property is a bit dated especially the rooms. Nothing is missing. Everything just looks kind of tired. I’ve been to other courtyards recently, where the color scheme and furniture were more up-to-date. It was however quite uncomfortable. The right structure is a bit mysterious, and without knowing it, breakfast was included with our room. The bistro was understaffed, and I have to admit the person was trying their best. The scrambled eggs were clearly not real eggs, tiny pieces, and overdone. One piece of toast came with breakfast. Coffee that was not hot was quickly replaced. Although I prefer courtyards over other inexpensive, Marriott chains the free breakfast at some others is an attractive option. Overall, a pleasant comfortable, stay geographically perfect.
